Career & History
Victon
Seungwoo debuted with the popular K-pop boy group Victon in 2016 with the mini-album “Voice To New World”. Each member plays a big role in the albums’ development process, even if they end up competing with each other while expressing their ideas (the singer shares in his interview with Marie-Claire Korea magazine).
X1
In 2019, the singer competed in Mnet’s survival show Produce X 101 as a representative from Plan A Entertainment. Seungwoo finished in third place, this becoming a member of X1, the boy band formed through the project.
Before debuting, the members of the newly-formed group anonymously voted for him to become their leader. X1 officially made their debut in August 2019 with the release of their album, named “Emergency: Quantum Leap”.
Unfortunately, the group split up in early 2020. The news concerning vote-rigging during the Produce show became the reason for disbandment. Though legally proved not to be involved in the machination, the group was considered to be established on “unfair” terms. So, Seungwoo fully rejoined Victon.
Solo Career
Seungwoo released his first solo album, “Fame”, in August 2020. It didn’t take long for his music to take over domestic as well as international music charts. He quickly made it to first place on the global iTunes Top Album. Moreover, he released a cinematically astonishing music video to its title track, “Sacrifice”.
In his interview with Marie-Claire Korea magazine, the artist shared that he enjoys the R&B genre and especially hip hop. ROLE MODEL and Lauv are some of his most favorite artists.
In the interview, he has also briefly described his everyday routine. In the morning, Seungwoo heads over to the studio to sing and to listen to some music. Then, he can think of some lyrics and write them down. His dance practices usually start in the evening. At night, the artist is busy working on writing songs. No wonder Han Seung Woo managed to do it all – composing, singing, rapping, dancing, and writing lyrics.
